when one door closes...

A few weeks ago I was completely burned out on swimming, and I was on the verge of canceling my YMCA membership. Now that my foot is broken I need to do something that is not running or riding so yesterday I went to the pool. All I did was a nice easy 4x100 spread out over almost 15 minutes, but it was really nice. I worked on not breathing out too much, and I was able to breath bilaterally the whole way - something that is usually tough after a lap or two. And my time on the first lap was only about 10 seconds off even though I felt very slow (& relaxed). So maybe I'm over the plateau and I'll see some real improvements this winter. I need to get my 400 time down around 6 minutes in order to avoid the sprint triathlon melee.
