I needed new shoes - just look at this picture of the insole from my old New Balance 607 shoes.

Being cheap I went to Ross before going to shoe stores. They had these Adidas Cardrona trail running shoes for $25, and they had them in size 14. They are from their ClimaCool line which means the uppers are 90% mesh and they should be very cool. I haven't tried them out yet, other than a couple of minutes on the treadmill, but I think they will suite my new midfoot running style. They rock forward right about the ball of my foot (as my weight shifts forward) in a way that makes me want to kick up my heel, so as long that doesn't cause any weird muscle strain it's a good thing.

BTW, before I bought them I went home & read the reviews on Amazon. MSRP was $80, these appear to be a 2008 model, and quite a few people got them on Amazon for about what I paid for them.
