WeatherSnow today, gone tomorrowI took these pictures of Boomer Lake in Stillwater Oklahoma 24 hours apart. The left side is the heavy snow of February 8, 2010. The right side is February 9, 2010. We had a lot of rain before the snow and it did not last long. It looks warmer but today is several degrees cooler than yesterday. (26°F vs. 33°F)
Winter weather hits
For the last weekend in March we've had one last swipe of winter. A lot of rain followed by quite a bit of snow - enough to build up on top of warm soggy ground. The soil temperature is around 40 so once the snow quit falling it started melting pretty quickly.
Ice storm melted
The ice storm that hit Tuesday is gone. We still have a few isolated patches of ice and slush that are quickly melting away. Even for a mild storm like that one it's a good idea to have food and supplies on hand.
